Fishing Information

WHILE FISHING A NIGHT TOURN. LAST YEAR ON TENKILLER LAKE MY WIFE AS MY PARTNER, WE STARTED FISHING IN BARNACLE BILL'S COVE.

AFTER A COUPLE OF SMALL FISH WE STARTED TO A SMALL ISLAND AS IT GOT DARK.

MY WIFE (USING SENKOS) CAUGHT A NICE 3LBER. RIGHT AT THE END OF THIS LITTLE POINT. THERE WERE SMALL TREES THAT HUNG OVER THE WATER FROM THE ISLAND , SO IT WAS HARD NOT TO GET HUNG UP IN THEM, ESPECIALLY AFTER DARK.

ABOUT AN HOUR LATER SHE DID HOOK ONE OF THOSE TREES HANGING OVER AND HER SENKO AND HER LINE WRAPPED, AROUND AND AROUND THIS BRANCH THAT HUNG OVER THE WATER.

AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF SHAKING AND JERKING I HEARD HER SAY WELL IM HUNG UP. I POINTED THE FRONT OF THE BOAT TOWARD THE BRANCH AND I COULD SEE THE SENKO DANGLING FROM THE BRANCH JUST RIGHT AT THE EDGE OF THE WATER.

MY BOAT RUN A GROUND A FEW FEET FROM THE BAIT WRAPPED AROUND THE BUSH, SO I HAD TO LEAN OUT OVER THE FRONT OF THE BOW AND TRY TO REACH THE LIMB, AND PULL IT TO ME SO I COULD UNWRAP THE LINE.

JUST AS I WAS GOING TO GRAB THE LIMB I SAW TWO LITTLE BEADY EYES STARING BACK AT ME.

"HER SENKO HAD WRAPPED AROUND AND AROUND AND AROUND THE LIMB AND A SNAKE" THAT WAS LAYING ON TOP OF THE LIMB AND INTERTWINED IN BETWEEN THE UP SHOOTING BRANCHES. THE SNAKE COULDN'T MOVE ANYTHING EXCEPT HIS HEAD. "HE WAS HOGTIED" BY HER LINE AND SENKO BAIT.

NEEDLESS TO SAY THAT SNAKE GOT A BIG SURPRISE AND A GOOD SENKO BAIT,

WHEN IT FINALLY GOT LIGHT, WE WENT BACK TO THE BUSH TO RETRIEVE THE SENKO AND TO SEE IF THE SNAKE HAD GOTTEN UN TIED. HE WAS STILL THERE HOG TIED TO THE BRANCH. WE JUST LET HIM HAVE THE SENKO AND SAID, THAT HE COULD GET HIM SELF LOOSE. .

HOW I LEARNED TO FISH

WELL I GUESS IT WAS MY DAD THAT TAUGHT ME TO FISH ,NOT BASS FISH BUT OTHER TYPES OF FISHING.

MY FRIEND JERRY AND I WERE CLOSE FRIENDS AND LOVED TO FISH AND HUNT TOGETHER.

JERRY AND I HAD SOME GREAT FISHING DAYS ON GRAND LAKE. HIS DAD OWNED A BOAT HOUSE IN DROWNING CREEK. WE WOULD GET UP BEFORE DAYLIGHT AND START FISHING, ALMOST EVERY WEEKEND.

WHEN WE GOT OLD ENOUGH TO GET OUR LICENSE TO DRIVE, OUR FIRST OUT OF TOWN TRIP WAS TO THE BOATHOUSE.

WE GOT MARRIED TO TWO GREAT GIRLS, AND THE FOUR OF US STARTED GOING TO THAT OLD BOATHOUSE ON THE WEEKENDS JUST LIKE WE DID WHEN WE WERE KIDS ,UP AT DAYLIGHT AND GONE FISHING, THEN BACK AT 1030AM TO HAVE BREAKFAST WITH THE WIVES.

IT WAS A GREAT TIME BACK THEN.

JERRY'S DAD DIED A FEW YEARS AGO ,I HAVEN'T SEEN HIM OR JERRY IN ABOUT 15YRS. BUT THE MEMORIES ARE STILL FRESH IN MY HEART.

THE GOOD TIMES WE HAD GROWING UP AND TEACHING EACH OTHER HOW TO FISH FOR BASS AT THE OLD BOAT HOUSE WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY MIND.
