The Tulsa Metro Bass League held their final regular season tournament, “The Carr & Carr/ Falcon Rods Open” this past Saturday, September 20 at the Verdigris River out of Afton Landing. Ed Broaddrick and Rob Hendricks, both from Skiatook, brought the only limit to the scales, 5 fish weighing in at 12.64 lbs., to take First Place over 38 other teams, worth $480.

Second Place and $350 went to Blake Ellison and Doug Detherow, both from Inola, for their 4-fish stringer of 11.55 lbs. Blake and Doug also brought Big Bass of the tournament to the scales, a 4.89 lb largemouth, for an additional $165.

Chris Chancellor and Tony Rickman, both of Claremore, also weighed 4 fish. Their stringer of 11.09 was worth $218.

The top five spots were rounded out by Scott Ross and Jason Hougland, Claremore, 4 fish, 10.45 lbs, $160; and Ken Hathcock, Sapulpa and Doyle Hathcock, Prue, 4 fish, 9.60 lbs, $115.

This final regular season tournament drew 39 boats. With only limit, 21 teams brought a total of 56 fish to the scales for a total weight of 133.36 lbs, a 2.38 lb per fish average.

Congratulations to the 2003 Tulsa Metro Bass League Anglers of the Year, Lincoln and Scott Sallee, both from Collinsville.

The Tulsa Metro Bass League Championship is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th at Grand Lake out of Martin Landing.
